The company attained prominence from the start when it was awarded the largest onshore turnkey contract ever awarded in the oil industry by Petroleum Development Oman
(PDO). The Lekhwair Turnkey Project was a Shell “Drilling in the Nineties” concept that resulted in drilling 83 vertical/deviated wells and 21 horizontal injectors & producers with two fast-moving desert rigs in a two year time frame with a one year warranty on the completed wells. The project was a remarkable technical success for both PDO and NDSC
